New Potential Question to be answered :

Did EA Sports predict correctly the winners of the Top Leagues in the 2019/2020 pandemic season?

It is undeniable fact that the 2019/2020 football season was a special year due to the pandemic. Regardless of the state of the market, the Covid-19 pandemic has dramatically affected the performances of the player, globally.

Besides that, at the end of September in 2019, EA Sports released the FIFA, along with its estimated stats for each team of the various leagues in the video game. At that point of time, the upcoming situation of the pandemic was unknown. Therefore, the aforementioned statistics may provide us with useful insights about the form of the teams.

Furthermore, by computing the average of the overall values of the players per team, might be considered significant indicator in order, the champions of this season to be predicted.

It is worth mentioning that the statistics of the EA Sports correctly verify the winners of the Bundesliga, the Premiera Division and the Serie A. In contrast, as far as the Premier League is concerned, Manchester City had 76.222 average overall, while the Liverpool, which was the winners of the Premier League, had only the third best average overall.

On the other side, some resounding deviations from the reality, was the RCD Espanyol as the third best team in Spain and the SV Werder Bremen as the fourth best in Germany. By the end of the season, the former relegated as the worst team in Spain and the latter finished 16th, just above the relegation zone. A similar trend, had the Genoa in Italy, which placed on the 17th position out of 19.

Another interesting fact that could be derived via the above visualization is that the Real Madrid depicted as the best team in FIFA. Thus, if this statistics be taken into consideration, the Meringues was the favorite for the conquest of the Champions League. However, once again, expectations and reality diverge. Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the final, and became the first European Cup winners to win all their matches during the tournament. An incredible accomplished, if one thinks about the differences of the wages between the German League and the remaining ones.

The aforementioned was the main force for the generation of the idea to combine the values the average overall of the teams that participated on the knockout Champions League phase, in order to "predict" the winner based on that average value.

This visualization along with the that could be found in this miro link: https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_lN0IeIE=/

The sketch of the idea is the following,

To elaborate a bit further with a example, In the knockout CL phase of the 2019 2020 season a couple was Chelsea vs Valencia. In reality; Valencia won. However, in FIFA average overall value of Chelsea is larger than Valencia .Thus, in FIFA; Chelsea should have won.

Therefore, in our visualization the winner team of each phase will relies upon their average overall. To visualize this, we though two possible ways

1.The classical one

or maybe a more familiar same visualize is

2. The circle one

For now, that's all folks!
